Month of Infinity

Well last month was a Warmachine month, this month is Infinity month … now why Infinity … well to be honest I was holding out on the new release of Warhammer 40k … hoping that it would be a better game than last edition … now after looking at it … yes the models are dead sexy … but the game it self is still very much “MEH” … so instead of getting the rules and the starter I’ve decided to try my hand at Infinity …

There where two factions that caught my attention fluff wise … the Nomands and the ALEPH … fluff is one of the major draw cards for me when deciding which faction to collect … and the story of three roving interstellar star ships is just too interesting for me … toss in Interstellar Cartel and Interstellar Hippies with Interstellar COPS … well what is there not to like … the past few days saw me assembling the minis together … cleaning flash … gluing minis and my fingers … I got to say … these minis are really a bitch to put together sometimes …

So without further ado … here’s what I hope to have fully painted up by the end of the month … this is also the first time I have used bought bases … normally I’m to cheap for that sort of stuff … but I ended up picking up some of the Secret Weapon Steel Plating bases … I think its a bit high but looks nice over all …

Busy Week

Well … been rather busy the past week …. so I’ve only had a chance to finish up three warcasters.

The last of my 75 point army done … and I even got the objective markers done up too … now to make some counters.

Cygnar vs Trolls and Khador

Well I wanted to test out my 75 point T:4 Darius Field Test list and Jenny and Fredy where willing tests subjects. And me being such a big scrub forgot to bring the SD card for the camera, so I had to use the iPad camera for these shots. Also looking at the photos I’m kinda sad that I didn’t finish painting up the Fireflies, coz they really do stand out of my force for being unpainted.

Bill and Ted walk towards the battle, I forgot that I could have used a trample move and still launch the Storm Pods which netted me with a 2″ lose of ground.

My tarpit units move to try and tie up the Trolls.

Both sides eyeing each other off.

Crunch time as Bill and Ted charge headlong into the the Khador Army.

On the other side the Stormblades are just taking pot shots at the Trolls in an irritating manner.

Bill is waiting for the expected Khador / Troll counter punch.

ALL IN! The Battle Engine, a Man of War Unit and a Destroyer pile into the Bill, and with Mardock feat. They don’t do even damage to junk Bill, which means only one thing for my turn.

Meanwhile on the other side the Trolls contest the objective. And the two warbeast Frenzy and tear apart the Stormclad.

The Stormblades take on the Champions and the Impaler.

Fully healed Bill makes short work of the Khador force arrayed before him with two mighty sweeps.

Notes to remember:
* Launch those pods.
* +2ARM is pretty good on ARM 19 jacks.
* Full Throttle is useless if I Termor the target anyway.
* A “HIT” is all I need to disrupt a jack from Stormsmiths.

Tossing up if I should lose one Firefly and the Stormsmith Tower and replace it with an Ironclad. I don’t think the Stormsmiths did much good POW 10 ain’t that hot.

There be lightning!!!

Thursday are always a hard night to get much painting done … but I did manage to paint up my Stormsmith Tower and finish off the second Stormwall’s Ligthing Rods … I painted this set differently to the first so I can remember which Rods belong to which Colossal …

Bill and Teds Excellent Adventures ….

Well finally finished up the second Stormwall, and with that I’ve now re-dubbed them Bill and Ted.

Hopefully they will have many successfully adventures on the battlefield.

Bill finished up … I think I need to touch up his power relays as they are a bit too dark for my liking.

The last 12 points I need to paint up for my 75 point Darius Field Test list, time willing I plan on having them done by tomorrow evening.

Based and Sealed

Well on my way to finishing up the 75pts … All my Units / Solos and Warcaster has now been painted up, based and hit with some matt varnish … all that’s left to do is finished up the second Stormwall

Stormblades

Worked on a unit of Stormblades with its UA and a Gunner attachment. Only got the Mechanics, Stormcsmiths and the Ranger Unit to go before I can start on the second Stormwall.

Warcaster Dominic Darius

Now I got this mini years ago, and because I couldn’t find a force that I would use with him, he has ended up living inside my drawers for years.

But now with the Stormwalls I have finally found a use for him.

August is the month of Cygnar.

The pledge is to paint only Cygnar this month … with the goal being to get 4 casters sets done … Caine has been done up, next up will be Darius, then hopefully Seige and time willing Constance … there should be enough minis paint to be able to make a cross over force for Nemo and Stryker … here’s hoping … but seeing as I’m lazy … well …

Tonight was a whole lot of undercoating and base coating …

As I saw an alternative Darius theme list in NQ43 … which just screamed for two Stormwalls
